I. Product Introduction

The Asphalt Floatability Tester is designed and manufactured by Hebei Tianqixingzi Inspection Equipment Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of T 0631-1993 "Asphalt Floatability Test" in the People's Republic of China industry standard JTG 3410-2025 "Standard Test Methods of Asphalt and Asphalt Mixture for Highway Engineering". It also references ASTM D139 and AASHTO T50 international standards. This instrument is used to determine the floatability of residues from distilled slow-setting liquid petroleum bitumen and coal tar pitch, as well as other related materials.

The float test of asphalt refers to the time, expressed in seconds (s), required for a specimen placed in a specified float apparatus and immersed in a water bath at a controlled temperature to gradually soften until it is broken by water flow. Unless otherwise specified, the test temperature for residues of distilled liquid petroleum bitumen is 50 °C, while the test temperature for coal tar pitch is 32 °C or 50 °C.
