Products Description
This equipment is widely used in highway engineering laboratories, research institutes, asphalt production enterprises and quality testing institutions, and is one of the important instruments for testing the performance of emulsified asphalt.
Emulsified Asphalt Demulsification Rate Tester
Model:TD658-2
I. Product Overview
The TD658-2 electric emulsified asphalt demulsification rate tester is used to determine the mixing stability and demulsification rate of various types of emulsified asphalt, thereby identifying the type of emulsified asphalt:
Fast-breaking type (RS)
Medium-breaking type (MS)
Slow-breaking type (SS)
II. Working Principle
This testing instrument consists of an electric motor and a mixing paddle. The motor drives the mixing paddle to rotate within a set speed range, ensuring thorough mixing of the emulsified asphalt and aggregate, achieving:
uniform mixing;
mass transfer processes (dissolution, adsorption, diffusion, etc.);
simulating actual construction mixing conditions;
thus accurately evaluating the demulsification characteristics of emulsified asphalt.
III. Implementation Standards
This equipment is designed with reference to the following standards:
JTG 3410 "Standard Test Methods of Asphalt and Asphalt Mixture for Highway Engineering"
ASTM D244 "Test Methods for Emulsified Asphalt"
AASHTO T 59 "Test Methods for Emulsified Asphalt"
EN 13075-1 "Determination of Demulsification Behavior of Emulsified Asphalt"

VI. Test Methods
1. Mix 200g of Group A aggregate evenly in a mixing pot. If it is cationic emulsified asphalt, first add 5ml of distilled water and mix well, then add 20g of emulsion. If it is anionic emulsified asphalt, directly add 20g of emulsion and mix with a metal spoon at 60r/min for 30s. Observe the homogeneity of the aggregate and emulsion after mixing.
2. Mix 200g of Group B aggregate evenly in the mixing pot, then add 30ml of distilled water and mix well. Add 50g of emulsion sample and continue mixing with a metal spoon at 60r/min for 60s. Observe the homogeneity of the aggregate and emulsion after mixing.
3. Result determination: Based on the uniformity of mixing of the two groups of aggregates and emulsions, the demulsification rate level (fast cracking, medium cracking, or slow cracking) of the emulsified asphalt is determined by referring to the standard.
