Products Description
The Le Chatelier Water Bath for Cement Soundness is used to determine the soundness of cement paste, including the Le Chatelier method and cake method. It is widely used as specialized laboratory equipment in cement manufacturing, construction, scientific research, and educational institutions.
Le Chatelier Water Bath for Cement Soundness
Model: TD505-FZ
I. Product Introduction
The Stainless Steel Le Chatelier Water Bath is a supporting testing device designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of JC/T 955-2005, Methods for Determining Water Requirement for Standard Consistency, Setting Time, and Soundness of Cement Paste. It can automatically control the heating of water in the chamber to boiling and maintain the boiling condition for a specified period.
Reference Standards: JC/T 955-2005, GB/T 1346, TAPPI T 227, ISO 5267-2
II. Structural Features
1. Boiling Chamber
The boiling chamber consists of the boiling box, controller, and connecting cable.
The boiling box mainly consists of the following components: lid (1), inner and outer walls (2), support grid (3), insulation layer (4), electric heating tube (5), drain valve (6), handle (7), vent hole (8), water-sealing groove (9), and terminal box (10).
Both the box body and support grid are made of stainless steel, with a brushed finish on the external surfaces.
2. Controller
The controller consists of the control cabinet, FZH-3 controller logic board, base plate, and front panel.
The base plate is equipped with an AC relay and logic board socket, into which the control logic board is installed. A regulated power supply is also mounted on the logic board.
The front panel is equipped with various control switches, buttons, and indicator lights. A power input socket, load output socket, and fuse panel are located on the rear of the housing. The front panel and base plate are connected via a 16-pin plug and socket.

IV. Operating Procedure
1. Add water to the boiling chamber until the water depth reaches 180 mm from the bottom of the chamber. Remove the standard-cured cement cake specimens or Le Chatelier molds from the glass plate and place them flat on the specimen rack. Alternatively, place the Le Chatelier molds horizontally on the support grid with the two needles facing upward.
2. Connect the power supply to the electrical control box and turn on the “Automatic” switch. The water in the boiling chamber will reach boiling point within approximately 30 minutes, after which one set of 3 kW heating elements will automatically switch off. After a further 3 hours of boiling, the boiling chamber will automatically stop operating. The digital display will then show 210 minutes, and the buzzer inside the electrical control box will sound.
After the boiling process is completed, drain the water through the copper hot-water tap. Open the lid and allow the chamber to cool to room temperature. Remove the specimens for subsequent testing.
3. If the water temperature in the boiling chamber is below approximately 20°C, first turn the Manual switch on the electrical control box to the “Heating” position and heat the water to approximately 20°C. Then turn off the Manual switch and activate the “Automatic” switch to start the automatic operating cycle.
4. Clean fresh water must be used in the boiling chamber, and any scale or sediment should be removed regularly.
