Products Description
The Automatic Aggregate Weak Particles Testing Apparatus is designed to determine the content of weak particles in crushed stone, gravel, and coarse aggregates. It automatically applies specified loads to individual particles to identify weak particles based on their fracture performance. Featuring accurate measurement, easy operation, and reliable performance, this aggregate testing equipment is widely used in construction material laboratories, aggregate quality inspection, and engineering research applications.
Automatic Aggregate Weak Particles Testing Apparatus
Model:TD320-2
I. Product Introduction
The Automatic Aggregate Weak Particles Testing Apparatus is designed according to T0320-2000 Test Method for Weak Particles in Coarse Aggregates and is used to determine the content of weak particles in crushed stone, gravel, and crushed gravel.
Reference / Applicable Standards: ASTM C142, AASHTO T112.
II. Technical Specifications
1. Load Capacity: ≤1000 N
2. Loading Method: Gear handle pressure loading
3. Stroke: ≤60 mm
4. Sensor: 1000 N Load Cell
5. Digital Display Power Supply: AC 220 V, 50 Hz
III. Instruments and Materials
1. Balance or Platform Scale: Capacity of 5 kg with a sensitivity of no more than 5 g.
2. Standard Sieves: Including round-hole sieves with aperture sizes of 5 mm, 10 mm, and 20 mm, or square-hole sieves with aperture sizes of 4.75 mm, 9.5 mm, and 16 mm.
3. Compression Testing Machine.
4. Others: Shallow tray, brush, and other auxiliary tools.
IV. Test Procedure
Weigh 2 kg of the air-dried aggregate sample (m₁). If the particle size is greater than 40 mm, weigh 4 kg of the sample. Sieve the sample into separate fractions according to particle size:
5 mm–10 mm, 10 mm–20 mm, and above 20 mm; or
4.75 mm–9.5 mm, 9.5 mm–16 mm, and above 16 mm (using square-hole sieves).
Place each individual particle from each size fraction at the center of the compression testing platform. Apply a load of 0.15 kN, 0.25 kN, or 0.34 kN according to the particle size.
Particles that fracture under the applied load are classified as weak particles and shall be discarded. Weigh the remaining unbroken particles and record their mass (m₂).
V. Calculation
Calculate the content of weak particles according to formula (1), accurate to 0.1%.
P=(m1-m2)/m1x100
Where: p - content of weak particles in coarse aggregate, %;
M1 - total mass of particles of each size class, g;
M2 - mass of intact particles of each size class after the test, g.
VI. Instrument Usage Instructions
1. Power Supply Installation: Plug the power input terminal into an AC 220V socket and turn on the power switch. Check if power is supplied.
2. Power-On: Turn on the power switch. The power-on screen will appear and then immediately switch to "0.0". You can then begin operation. If the screen does not display "0.0", press the "Zero" button to zero it.
3. Testing: When the LCD screen displays "0.0", you can begin testing.
4. Powering Off: Turn off the power switch. If not using the instrument for an extended period, please unplug the power cord.
