Products Description

The Marshall Compactor is a compact and reliable laboratory device used to prepare and compact asphalt specimens for stability and flow testing. It ensures consistent sample quality, helping engineers and researchers accurately evaluate asphalt mixture performance.

Marshall compaction apparatus

Model:LQJHG-2

I.Product Introduction

The automatic Marshall stability specimen compactor is developed and manufactured by Hebei Tianqixingzi Inspection Equipment Co.,Ltd.It is designed according to JTGE20-2011"Test Procedures for Asphalt-Based Mixtures in Highway Engineering"and T0702-2011"Methods for Preparing Mixture Specimens(Compaction Method)".It also references international standards ASTM D6926(Asphalt Specimen Preparation Using Marshall Apparatus),ASTM D6927(Marshall Stability and Flow Test Method for Asphalt Mixtures),and AASHTO T245(Resistance to Plastic Flow of Bituminous Mixtures Using Marshall Apparatus),achieving a high degree of standardization and automation in sample preparation and testing.

This product is suitable for preparing asphalt mixture specimens using the standard compaction method or the large compaction method, for use in laboratory tests of the physical and mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures.

IV.Instructions for Use

(I)Preparation

Determine the mixing and compaction temperatures for preparing asphalt mixture specimens.

Asphalt mixture using a fully automatic mixing planter.

Wipe the molds, sleeves, and compaction blocks with cotton yarn dampened with a small amount of grease, and heat them in an oven at approximately 100°C for 1 hour before use.

(II)Operating Procedures

1.Add the heated mixture to the mold.Insert the thermometer to near the center of the mixture.Once the temperature meets the requirements, place a piece of low-absorbency round paper on top of the mixture, and then insert the compaction head equipped with the compaction hammer and guide rod into the mold.

2.Use the"Preset"dial to set the number of compactions as needed.Press the"Set Number"button to display the preset number in the window.Press the"Power On"button to start the motor.Once the required number of compactions is reached, the window will display"00"and the motor will stop automatically.

3.After one side of the specimen is compacted, remove the sleeve, turn the mold around, put the sleeve back on,and then compact the other side using the same method and number of times.

4.After the specimen is compacted, immediately remove the paper from the top and bottom with tweezers, and measure the height of the specimen with calipers. If the height does not meet the requirements, the specimen should be discarded. For specimens that meet the requirements, remove the sleeve and base, let them stand at room temperature for 12 hours, and then place them on a demolding machine to remove the specimen.

V.Precautions

1.If the counter does not work after power-on,check if the distance between the contact switch or limit switch and the metal plate of the chain is too large. The gap between them should not exceed 2mm.

2.After stopping the machine,if you do not need the music to continue playing, you can press the preset button once to silence the sound.Turn on the instrument, start compaction, compact one side, turn the test mold around and compact the other side.

3.After completion, remove the top and bottom paper and check whether the specimen dimensions meet the requirements.

4.During the test, fingers or tools must not be inserted into the mold to prevent personal injury. If the instrument stops due to malfunction, the power must be disconnected first, and then the hammer must be manually secured before removing the mold to prevent accidental drop and injury.

5.After the test, clean the instrument promptly and add lubricating oil if necessary.
