Products Description

The Digital Concrete Vebe Consistometer is designed to determine the Vebe consistency of fresh concrete mixtures by measuring Vebe time. It is suitable for concrete with a maximum aggregate particle size of 40 mm and a Vebe time of 5–30 seconds. Ideal for concrete laboratories, quality control, and construction material testing.

Digital Concrete Vebe Consistometer

Model: TD-WB3

I. Product Introduction

This instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with GB/T 50080-2016 and is mainly used to determine the Vebe consistency of fresh concrete mixtures. The consistency is determined based on the Vebe time (in seconds) required for the concrete mixture to reach a fully compacted state under vibration. It is suitable for testing concrete mixtures with a maximum aggregate particle size of no more than 40 mm and a Vebe time of 5–30 s.

Reference Standard: EN 12350-3, ISO 4110:1979.

III. Product Details

1. Place the instrument on a firm and level platform. Use a damp cloth to moisten the container, slump cone, feed hopper, and the inner surfaces of other accessories.

2. Lift the feed hopper above the slump cone and secure it in position. Adjust the position of the container so that its axis is aligned with the axis of the feed hopper, then tighten the round nut.

3. Place the prepared concrete sample into the slump cone in three layers using a small scoop. Each layer should be approximately one-third of the height of the cone after compaction. Rod each layer uniformly 25 times over the entire cross-section using the tamping rod. When rodding the second and top layers, penetrate through the layer being compacted and just into the top of the underlying layer. After rodding, strike off and level the surface.

4. Rotate the transparent disc over the slump cone, tighten the positioning screw, and set the instrument to zero.

5. Move the feed hopper and transparent disc away, then lift the slump cone vertically. Take care to prevent any lateral movement or twisting of the concrete sample.

6. Rotate the transparent disc over the top surface of the truncated cone-shaped concrete sample. Loosen the positioning screw and lower the disc until it just lightly contacts the concrete surface. Read the value, which is the slump value.

7. Press the Start/Stop button on the controller while simultaneously starting the stopwatch. When the bottom surface of the transparent disc is completely in contact with the cement paste, allowing for a small number of enclosed air bubbles, immediately stop the stopwatch and switch off the vibrating table.

8. Record the time shown on the stopwatch, accurate to 0.5 s.

IV. Test Result

The time measured by the stopwatch, in seconds, is the Vebe consistency value of the concrete mixture.

V. Maintenance and Inspection

1. After each use, thoroughly clean the container, feed hopper, slump cone, and transparent disc, and wipe them dry with a cloth. In particular, any cement paste or residue on the transparent disc must be completely removed to ensure clear observation during the next test. After cleaning the instrument, wipe it dry thoroughly. Take special care to prevent moisture from entering the electrical components.

2. Before starting the vibration each time, check whether all components and parts are properly positioned and whether all screws are securely tightened.

3. After prolonged use, if the transparent disc becomes frosted or scratched, it should be polished promptly. If its thickness is less than 8 mm, it should be replaced immediately. During use, if the total load is less than 2700 g, replace the transparent disc or add additional weights. To add weight, secure a washer weighing approximately 50 g beneath the top screw.
